Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.

When it came to the apostle Paul’s last words to Timothy, he knew that it was of highest importance that the truth of God’s word continued to be preached and taught. Paul knew that his ministry was ending, but God’s work would not end. God continues to build His Kingdom from every nation, tribe, people and language. Timothy was just one such individual that God had chosen to continue what Paul had started.

GNOM has been through many changes over the years. Some of our board members have worked alongside with founders Hugh and Carol Hamp and their successors, Robert and Janice Graham and more recently with Jamie and Rhonda Thornton. Camp ministry has provided a unique opportunity to present the gospel with truth and love in action. Your prayers and contributions to GNOM have been a key part of that, and we as a board thank you for your support. We are thankful for our executive directors already mentioned, who have served faithfully. We are thankful for countless volunteers who over the years have sacrificed their time and resources as they practically served our campers. Most importantly, we thank God for His faithfulness and His blessing on Georgian Native and Outreach Ministries as His Kingdom has been furthered.

With no summer camp in 2020 and none planned for 2021, the future for summer camp ministry was in doubt. However, we are excited to share that God has made a gracious way for the work of GNOM to carry on. By amalgamating the ministry with an established Native Children’s Camp Ministry in Alberta, GNOM can continue to share the unchanging gospel message with Native children.ccessors, Robert and Janice Graham and more recently with Jamie and Rhonda Thornton. We would like to introduce you to the new executive director of GNOM. Donny Coulter is teaching pastor at Creekside Community Church in Pincher Creek, AB. He has been building relationships in neighbouring reserves for decades, and his work has included First Nations children’s camp since 1995. Our founder, Hugh Hamp has known Donny and his wife Dana for many years, and knew of the challenges that Donny and Dana faced as they ran the Lord’s work with few resources and without charitable status.

We are excited to mark a new chapter in GNOM, connecting with a mature, gospel-centred work in southwestern Alberta. As a board, we have unanimously decided to relocate the ministry to this region. We will be adding to the board of directors individuals more closely associated with the work in the west. On this note, we are very excited to announce our newest appointment to our board of directors, Hugh Hamp. His ministry heart, experience, and close proximity living in Alberta make him a wonderful addition.

The board has asked Hugh to share a personal message with you here:

"Once Carol and I sold our home in Ontario, we packed our truck and trailer and headed for Alberta where we had purchased a home with our daughter Heather and family. We are comfortably situated in our walkout basement apartment. We came to know Donny and his family a number of years ago and became aware of their challenges which were similar to ours. We are pleased to see both boards have seen the advantages of amalgamating to form a stronger, God honouring Native Camp Ministry."

Jamie and Rhonda will be pursuing a new Native Ministry opportunity in Ontario and we wish them God’s abundant blessings in this exciting new chapter of their lives. Please pray for Jamie and Rhonda, Donny and Dana, and our board of directors as we seek the will of the Lord Jesus in all these matters. At this time there is no greater gift we could ask for.
